Here's What Radio Candy Media Does

triangle-logo

  1. We do radio placement promotion for artists
  2. We own 5 stations and have relationships with an additional 150 more
  3. We are the administators for the weekly Radio Indie Alliance charts

The Problem:
Independent artists face neglect within the music industry. Each week, approximately 150,000 independent songs are released on platforms like Apple Music, Spotify and Amazon. However, there are limited avenues for these artists to achieve financial sustainability. In 2020, major labels accounted for a staggering 66.1% of the market, amassing $15.1 billion in revenue.

"The music industry has lost its ability to discover and nurture their talents"...additionally "Old songs now represent 70% of the US market. Even worse: the new-music market is actually shrinking"
- Ted Gioia (The Atlantic, Jan. 23, 2022)

As highlighted in a July 28, 2022 Variety magazine article, it was pointed out that the antiquated streaming model that exists today is based upon the  "uneven division of the revenue used to account for the expenses that labels incurred in the manufacture of vinyl, CDs and cassette tapes."

The article goes on to say "Consequently, we've had this lopsided arrangement between publishing and sound recordings for a long time because sound recordings can set their own prices," says Chris Castle, who dates the split to a 1909 law governing player-piano rolls.

Based on recent music industry events, companies like Universal Music Group are starting to partner up with companies like Deezer (France's largest streaming service) basically forcing them to change their royalty model rates to benefit artists, labels and publishers more equitably, resulting in a more level playing field.

Because of efforts by Universal Music Group's Chairman Lucian Grange all of the major streaming  services are changing to the "Artist-centric model."

- Variety - January 9, 2024

This is where Radio Candy Media's ClickGo will come in handy as an Artist/Label promotional vehicle.

Our Solution

The Solution

ClickGo consists of two main components: the all-in-one HUB Landing Page and the ClickGo Phone App search engine. These work together to attract traffic to the HUB landing pages. When songs are played on either app, push notifications are sent to both the artists and users' phones.

Through partnerships with global distributors like Tunecore, Bandcamp, Distrokid, and CD Baby, we can onboard tens of thousands of artists, utilizing their effective marketing tools. Our advertising efforts span multiple platforms, including YouTube, Reddit, Facebook, TikTok, and more, with a customer acquisition cost of $3.50.

Push Notifications

Fans & Artists are both notified when there's activity on the Artist's HUB Page or the Click Go phone app.

Artist's Click Go HUB Landing Page

HUB LANDING PAGES Where artists can configure with easy drag and drop functionality and can stream one video and three songs. There is also a "Community Area" and supports up to 4 Social Media platforms

The Demand:

Many artists/bands are abandoning their websites and relying solely on social media platforms, highlighting the demand for a simpler, affordable, all-in-one solution. Our approach involves a user-friendly phone app that covers multiple genres, providing fans and artists with a controlled environment where they won't get lost in the noise.

These pages reveal a different tale: Through our artist market survey, we uncovered numerous neglected and abandoned artist websites that offer little support or simply lead to dead ends.

Why Us & Why Now?

Case Study: Video

Streaming services

Netflix Now Has a Lot of Competition

Netflix added 36 million subscribers in 2020 during the Pandemic. Many other major companies have now jumped into their marketshare.

In a 2022 letter to shareholders, Netflix attributed its subscriber loss to a number of factors, including a slowdown in the adoption of broadband and smart TVs; password sharing among households; and increased competition from both traditional cable and broadcast TV and other emerging streaming services.

Case Study: Music

Audio Streamers

Artists and Labels need more than what Spotify offers

In the second quarter of 2022, 30.5 percent of music streaming subscribers worldwide had a subscription with Spotify, almost double the share who were subscribed to Apple Music. Other services in the list included Amazon, Tencent Music and YouTube 2023 Universal, Sony and Warner are all developing their own streaming services.

By partnering with the major labels, we will offer them their own branded Click Go landing pages and phone app search engine to drive fans directly to their product. We will be able to create a library for their own version of our product.

Market Trends

The U.S. streaming market size was valued at USD 9.2 billion in 2021 and is expected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 13.3% from 2022 to 2030.

The apps segment accounted for the largest revenue share of over 85.0% in 2021 and is expected to witness the fastest growth from 2022 to 2030.

Music streaming suppliers are only focused on offering podcasts, song lyrics, and music videos on their platforms to improve customer experience.

New licensing prospects are starting to emerge for music IP holders opening new revenue streams.

The on-demand streaming segment captured the largest revenue share of over 70.0% in 2021.

On-demand streaming services have substantially restricted illegal music streaming and downloading for all parties, from distributors to musicians.

Market & Advertising Positioning

Rather than competing with larger providers like Apple and Spotify, we leverage existing strategic partnerships with music distributors to enhance our own unique services. What sets us apart from traditional music marketing and A&R companies is our online presence and proprietary ClickGo technology. Through push notifications on both the artist's and user's phone, we actively promote our artists and engage with listeners when songs are played on our apps.

ClickGo will reach both free app users and potential artist customers through targeted marketing efforts via music distributors, industry sources, and relevant publications.
